trans ask game
i've been thinking a lot about my transness and the trans community recently so i thought it'd be nice to do trans ask game from werewolf-t-dick on tumblr :)
- How would you describe your gender? Your fine-china-for-distinguished-guests gender? a somewhat masculine, water-y Thing, inseperable from all parts of me because it's intertwined with my autistic love for the color purple and bugs.
- Are there any fictional characters who you find inspiring or who are important to your concept of your gender? bonnie from FNAF and the drowned from minecraft. plus all of the anime boys i grew up watching, who i couldn't tell if i wanted to be with them or be them (mainly edward elric from fullmetal alchemist)
- What are some of your favorite things about being trans? i like that my gender is divored from the binary. i am purely me, and the labels i use for myself are strokes of paint on a canvas, rather than a box to close myself into. i'm definitely masc-leaning, but i don't hold myself to any conventions of masculinity, and it feels freeing to reinvent my gender from the ground up.
- What are some things you love about other trans people? i love our creativity! inspiration for gender expression comes from so many places that i could never fathom. i love the diversity of names and pronouns that people use, regardless of their gender. i LOVE "contradicting" labels and pronouns and stuff. we CAN get weirder and i love when we do.
- What are some things you love about medical transitioning? Whether it be for yourself or for other people? i really love seeing before and after photos, and seeing the spark in everyone's eyes upon transitioning :) it makes me really excited to transition myself, and i hope to go on T and get top surgery at the very least in the future
- Do you find your gender in non-human things? If so, what? It might be animals, robots, computers, celestial bodies, mythological figures, etc.! YES 100% water and robots and bugs and sharks and the color purple and the flavor of mint tbh :D
- Who are some of your favorite trans characters from media? Lake from Infinity Train, Dipper from Gravity Falls, Daemon from Date Everything, Mettaton from Undertale, Kris from Deltarune, Uraume and Kirara from Jujutsu Kaisen, Togata from Fire Punch
- Who are some characters you headcanon or interpret as trans? Noelle from Deltarune as transfem, Denji from Chainsaw Man as transfem in the future, Bakugo and Kirishima from My Hero Academia as transmasc
- What do you find beautiful and admirable in trans history and culture? i really admire the way trans people in history have had a quiet, yet resolute, self-assuredness about them, if that makes sense. they pursue transition and mind themselves and their friends and partners, and make their own corner of the world a lovely place.
- Are there any songs that make you feel really good about yourself? If so, share them! anything by Ayesha Erotica makes me shake my ass, and Set It Off makes me feel really cool lol
- Are there any artworks (paintings, drawings, sculptures, videos, films, etc.) that make you feel really good about yourself? If so, share them! Steven Universe and Gravity Falls, in full honesty. Steven and Dipper were kinda instrumental in me finding comfort in boyhood, while i was surrounded by family that was a bit sad and toxic at the time.
- What are some unique things about the culture you come from and how it informs your gender? the only thing i've really taken into account from Polish culture is that Poles keep to themselves, but kinda in a cold way? all i really know is that Poles don't make small talk, which i honestly kinda like. i want to be a warm person instead
- What are your dreams of a trans future? i want all of us to have full bodily and financial autonomy. i want us all to have access to healthcare with informed consent and respectful doctors and endocrinologists and surgeons and nurses and technicians. i want us to be treated as a natural evolution of gender and sexuality in the animal kingdom. i want a trans future of peace and community and joy and solidarity. i hope i can see it myself one day.
